Driftwood is wood that has been washed onto a beach or shoreline from the sea, lake or river by the action of the winds and tides.
In some areas it can be a major nuisance, especially when remains of trees that have been washed into the ocean and then reappear again as partially decomposed timber often causing blockages and flooding in waterfront areas.What better way to recycle these discarded products from the sea into useful furniture items and natural works of art.

As driftwood is from a completely natural source and being a product of nature, quite often there can be an aroma from the sea and sometimes evidence of mould.
The mould can easily be wiped away with proprietary furniture cleaners or polish and the sea water smell will fade away after a short period.
Do not place very hot or cold items directly on the surface.Do not sit or stand on the glass surface. Do not strike the glass surface with hard or pointed items.
Clean with a damp cloth, do not use abrasives.
